There was so much potential with the Rey character but Disney blew it. The way they developed the character felt aimless, didn’t give us anything to care for her or her situation. They also made her kind of whiney/weak in character - someone without strong convictions, beliefs or anything the audience could relate to. The fact that they made her related to someone we hate rather than someone we could root for, is a shame. I would have much rather have see her as a daughter of Luke or Leia than what they gave us. Heck, even a grand daughter to Obi Wan would have been better - some woman Obi hooked up with when on Tatooine. I don’t blame the actress, she did the best with what she was given but the execs who insist on meddling in story telling at Disney have to stop!

Rise of Skywalker was written so lazily, it’s ridiculous. 7 8 and 9 were all bad but 9 (ROS) was by far the worst. They all had relatively good bones, but poor execution. Frankly, I think The Last Jedi was the best of the 3 in the “Sequel trilogy”. Again they were All bad, but I think Last Jedi was the least bad.

This is the issue with star wars fans especially the ones here for the original they hate on EVERYTHING new that comes out literally have since the start think I'm lying? Remember when the prequels dropped? The way they were received proves my point especially now that pretty much everyone can acknowledge that they are masterpieces hell I think the prequels are better than both of the other trilogies point is the fanbase is full of extremely toxic boomers and if you want the series to be remembered inteoducing it to the newer generations is the way to go and you can't expect a kid nowadays to sit thru a movie from the 70s and if anyone thinks I'm wrong(as most of you probably do) i challenge you to debate me on it without being toxic

Finding out a favorite movie commentator is from the same country as me is beautiful and bittersweet. Bittersweet because I know what you feel and I’m also scared everyday. Feels very lonely. Hopefully things will change.
